- 100% Incredibly Soft, Hand Dyed Superwash Merino Wool

- 8 skeins available - 4 at 105 yards, 4 at 110 yards. Choose your length at checkout.

- This is a One of a Kind, Variegated Hand-spun yarn created by me with great love and attention to detail on my Louet S15 spinning wheel.

- When worked up, each skein will self stripe through varying shades of Maroon, Orange, Gold, Purple, and Green. The stripes of color are a medium length, and are very heathered which makes a delightful complexity of color depth in your finished project.

- This yarn is perfect for adding excitement to your own unique crocheting, weaving or knitting creations!

What Can I Make With This Yarn?

Each skein of my Hand Spun Yarn is enough to make a Beret or Fingerless mitts*. Two skeins are enough for a Hat, Gloves, or Cowl*. Three or more are enough for a Shawl, Scarf, or mixed with your favorite solid color yarn, a Sweater*!

Hand Spun is great for making Shawls, Gloves, Hats, Scarves, and Socks. My Hand spun works particularly well as the yoke of a color-work sweater, or in the Nightshift Shawl Pattern.

Fiber Content Properties

  • This Superwash Merino wool is truly one of the softest wools I've encountered.
  • Also, due to the super washing process, it's more durable during wearing and cleaning.
  • Wool is well known for its warmth and moisture wicking properties; so, it keeps you insulated yet cool at the same time.

This yarn will be a joy to work with, (and to wear!)

How Was This Yarn Made?

To create this Yarn:

  • I spun up some beautifully hand dyed, and super soft Superwash Merino Wool by Malabrigo.
  • I spun half the fiber in large chunks, and the other half in small strands so when plied together, the colors mix together in new and exciting ways throughout the skein.

The finished yarn was inspired by a the rich dark tones contrasted with the pastel light tones in an old tapestry I saw at the Met Museum!

Amazing yarn and really fun colors.

I chose this yarn after attending the New England Fiber festival. The yarn from Clarion was so beautiful and while not cheap, it was much less than some of the prices I had seen at the festival and was exactly what I was looking for. The package came with a note and was very lovely.
